The following candidates were shortlisted by the jury:
statement of the jury | The architecture firm ILLIZ ARCHITEKTUR, run by three women, impresses with fresh, sensual architecture that creates a high recognition value and places with identity through the skillful use of colour and material.
statement of the jury | The projects in the existing building testify to a sensitive approach to the historical substance as well as a high level of sophistication in detail and symbolic aesthetics, which are also reflected in the new construction of the funeral home.

The following candidates were shortlisted by the jury:
statement of the jury | Her work reflects a strong interest in preserving traditional architecture and integrating it seamlessly with the surrounding environment. A notable example is her project along the Mur River in Graz, where she has created a design that not only adapts to the site but also introduces new public spaces for the community to enjoy.

The following candidates were shortlisted by the jury:
statement of the jury | The work deals with sustainable and ecological forest management. This is seen as an important contribution, as the raw material wood can thus be made available for “climate-neutral buildings”.
statement of the jury | The work shows the reconstruction of a wooden farmhouse that was destroyed by fire. The building was adapted in a contemporary way using local materials.
The overall understanding of the project to rebuild an old structure instead of demolishing and starting from scratch is a notable present contribution that sends a clear message.

She co-founded Rebel Architette, a platform that promotes the visibility of women architects and challenges the gender imbalance in the industry. Through her projects and activism, Francesca raises awareness of the importance of diversity and inclusion in the architectural field and anotHERVIEWture award wants to highlight the special value of her work in building a new and better understanding of the profession.
